I am a(n):

First-time entrepreneur

If you're an entrepreneur or corporate innovator, why?

I want to be my own boss, and be in control.

My favorite startups:

37signals, Zappos

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Frustrating - Always feeling behind the curve and that there are 27 things we should be doing that we're not.

Rewarding - Getting emails from users who love what we're doing and want to support us.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

Not validating their business model before building the product

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

1. Find someone to buy what you're selling before you build it

2. Do something you care about and believe in.

3. Startups are supposed to be an attempt to build a business, and fundraising pales in comparison with profitability.
