Randy Whiting heads Brownstone Ventures which he established in 1999 to provide a vehicle to create and develop promising new business concepts primarily in the digital media. Since it’s founding, Brownstone has created a number of new businesses, worked with over 20 early start-up ventures and consulted with some of the leading innovators in the digital economy. Brownstone currently is invested in a variety of new ventures from food services and banking to video production and Internet television.
He is a co-founder of the music video education company Play Like Me Music and was chairman of the board for OnRadio, a pioneer in streaming radio programming over the Internet. He is currently focused on developing a new Web TV channel called Music Enthusiast Television.
Prior to founding Brownstone Ventures, he was President and CEO of CommerceNet, a pioneering research and development consortium that lead development of many currently used eCommerce technologies and business models. While at CommerceNet, he served an advisor to the White House on Internet technology policy and worked with both the European Union and APEC. He also was director of Hewlett-Packard’s eCommerce and Internet strategies for sales and marketing.
