Michael O’Neil was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 28. After surgery and four cycles of chemotherapy, Michael immediately began building GetWellNetwork, a company committed to working with health systems to improve outcomes through patient engagement.
Today, GetWellNetwork is recognized by KLAS® as the leader in Interactive Patient Systems (2009-2014) and is exclusively endorsed by the American Hospital Association. GetWellNetwork has appeared multiple times on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ and Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies.
Michael was named to the Top 40 Under 40 Entrepreneurs in Venture Magazine and is a two-time finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program. Michael is a member of Young President’s Organization (YPO) and Mindshare, an exclusive forum of CEOs from leading technology companies in Washington, DC. He serves on the board of directors of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – National Capitol Area Chapter and The DAISY Foundation, an international organization dedicated to honoring nurses.
Michael has served as an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, and is a guest speaker at University of Virginia School of Law, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith Business School and The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. Michael received a B.A. with honors from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D./MBA from Georgetown University.
