Mark has over a decade of experience in psychology and internet technology. Mark conducted psychophysiology research for four years in the Stanford Department of Psychology, counseled teens for two years on a hotline, volunteered at a neurology clinic for veterans, and mentored teens in entrepreneurship with Build.org. He completed coursework for a degree in Human Biology and a minor in Symbolic Systems and neuroscience from Stanford.

As a product manager at PayPal, Mark developed products in security, merchant services, operations, and customer support. Mark also co–founded PlayCafe, a web–based, interactive TV network that ran over 250 shows. PlayCafe raised $930,000 from top-tier investors including First Round Capital.

Mark previously co–founded and was COO of Woosh, a service that created online storefronts for small businesses. Woosh was a finalist in the 1998 Stanford Entrepreneurial Challenge and raised $21 million in funding. Mark also co–founded the Stanford Bazaar, a local online marketplace acquired by Stanford, and founded the Stanford Squash Team, home to the 2005 women's national champion and world champion coach Mark Talbott.
