  • About

I am a(n):

social media enthusiast. Currently interested in anti-libraries, geo-social mobile apps, and er, social media.

If you're an entrepreneur or corporate innovator, why?

I didn't want to die saying I was an Accountant.

My favorite startups:

Viglink, mailchimp, 37 signals, Tom Shoes (a social enterprise)

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Most rewarding: Having faith each day I am building something that could grow into something useful and fun for people
Most frustrating: Being patient with the pace that life unfolds, but if we fixed my frustration, I'd be getting older faster so I'm okay with this.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

Its difficult to generalize across all startups because startups come in many various shapes and sizes, and startup founders have different strengths and development areas. However, if I had to choose, I think not listening to your customers, partners or advisers isn't going to do anyone any good. And I mean really listening.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

1- BE the right partner that your partners/business needs
2- Innovate
3- Laugh everyday. Because that's why I show up here instead of anywhere else

Full bio

How does one summarize oneself in a 200-word bio? And does that limit oneself? But since you asked for a "full" bio, here goes.

Currently interested in anti-libraries, geo-social mobile apps, temperature-clocks for micro-climates, and er, social media. Product evangelist. Entrepreneur. Currently evangelizing BuzzGrowl. BuzzGrowl lets you see what others are saying on every website. Works on Chrome, Firefox, Wordpress, tumblr, etc. Great for social media junkies, those who like to "eavesdrop" and generally, anyone else. Of our publisher edition, TheNextWeb says "A premium answer to driving social media engagement. If you run a blog, you’ll love it.” I like to say with effect: We growl buzzes at you!

In previous lives, was a consultant, a mergers & acquisitions banker and a Ferragamo shoe totterer. These days, gave it up for fresh air, fresh ideas, and a chance to create something real and fun.

Graduate of Harvard Business School and Nanyang Technological University. Certified Public Accountant. Student of the Vipassana Meditation Practice. Hobby: created a geo-social, social enterprise, iphone app that allows you to share taxies from airports with trusted connections, called taximatch. Twitters as @kwbsteo.
