Karen leads VolunteerSpot’s inspired, seasoned team and in startup tradition does everything from setting strategy, to marketing, product development, partnerships, customer listening and conversion and fundraising.  Karen has become a recognized national expert in boosting parent involvement in schools and using social media for social good.  She frequently speaks at conferences including State PTAs, BlogWorld, Evo, Mom 2.0, SXSW and Mom Congress.

Prior to founding VolunteerSpot, Karen had 15 years experience as a consultant in customer centric-leadership development, marketing strategy and business process redesign.  As the Founder and Principal in Radiance Learning, she worked with leadership teams at top high-tech, banking and hospital clients including Silicon Graphics, The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Tenet Healthcare, and Stanford University. Prior to Radiance Learning, Karen was a consultant with Towers Perrin’s healthcare practice. Karen holds both a BA and MHA from Tulane University in New Orleans.  She lives in Austin, TX with her husband, daughter and a ridiculous number of pets.
