Heyzap, Golden
Why did you start your company or why do you want to innovate inside your company?

The idea came out of looking up very niche topics like technologies/companies/new academic concepts and not finding the information collected in a holistic place with all surrounding information videos, blog posts, a timeline on the topic, podcasts, etc. I started to look into how many topics are out there that didn’t have coverage and dig into why that had happened in the first place.

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Frustrating – having to worry about something that started going wrong. Rewarding – seeing users interact with the product, give feedback, and have systems interact in ways that we didn’t expect.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

Hire the best people. Don’t take no for an answer. Learn the rules before you break them.

Full bio

Gomila has seen 10,000 companies across a wide variety of industries and niche technologies and while researching areas of interest, he often wondered why there such a lack of organization of human knowledge. This gap is particularly apparent at the leading edges of research, emerging technologies, new startups, and ideas.

Furthermore, Gomila is a huge fan of Wikipedia and believes it is one of the most important things that humans have ever built, but pages from Wikipedia get deleted because they don’t reach the notability standard of the website or they fail to get covered in sufficient detail as soon as a topic is known to the web. This is not a true grasp of the world’s knowledge and what exists out there.
