Responsibilities

As the global Innovation leader for Aon’s health businesses, Jim has responsibility for developing and implementing leading-edge solutions that enable employers to improve health and manage cost. His team includes subject matter experts in pharmacy, absence management, behavioral health, health improvement, clinical analytics, navigation, and provider network optimization.

Jim is a member of the firm's Executive Leadership Team.

Experience

Jim has been with the company since 1996. During this time, and before, he consulted with clients on overall health care strategy, health plan management, program design and implementation, health care consumerism, and pricing. He has extensive experience in health and welfare vendor selection and negotiation, both domestically and internationally. With the current focus on reforming the U.S. health care system, Jim is part of Aon’s cross-functional health care reform task force, and has testified before Congress on the important role of the employer in improving health and managing health care costs.

Previously, Jim served for four years as Legacy Hewitt’s business leader for Health Management Consulting, providing business direction and thought leadership for Hewitt’s 350-colleague, employer-focused health care consulting group. Preceding that operational role, Jim led the firm’s global health care Design and Development group, a team focused on leading-edge development of designs, offers, and consulting tools to assist clients with their domestic and international health and productivity needs.

Jim’s clients have included large employers in higher education, technology, pharmaceuticals, defense contracting, telecommunications, and information/research. Prior to joining the firm, Jim spent eight years working for a U.S.-based national health care company in underwriting, pricing, and marketing positions.

Education

Jim earned a Bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Hartford.

As an extension of Aon’s thought leadership, Jim is Aon’s executive sponsor for the firm’s relationship with the Board of the National Business Group on Health. He has served on boards for NBGH’s Institute on Innovation in Workforce Well-Being, Institute on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital and Health Innovations Forum.
