Jefrey Bloom

Jeff is the Chair of the Venture Capital and Private Equity Fund Formation group at Fenwick & West. His practice focuses on all aspects of the representation of venture capital, private equity and similar private investment funds. Jeff's practice also includes technology joint ventures, incubators, and technology transfer vehicles.

Prior to joining Fenwick & West, Mr. Bloom held a range of management level operating and internal general counsel roles at various institutional private equity funds, including Senior Advisor at Capital Dynamics, a globally diversified fund-of-funds based in Switzerland, Managing Director, CCO and General Counsel at HRJ Capital, a globally diversified fund-of-funds acquired by Capital Dynamics in 2009 and CFO at Storm Ventures, a telecommunications and Internet focused venture capital fund.

Prior to his experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Bloom was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and prior to that, a tax attorney at Paul, Weiss New York.

Mr. Bloom has also been a regular speaker on legal and business development issues of interest to the venture capital community. He served on the board of directors of Chestnut Medical Technologies from 1994 to its acquisition in 2009 by EV3.
