What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

The most rewarding part of being an entrepreneur is getting to wear your pajamas to work and take a day off whenever you need it. The most frustrating part is taking 100% of the risk, so when there is a problem, it's completely on you to solve it.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

Letting other people's fears get into their head.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

1. Get up and work hard every single day - don't get discouraged, or waste time doubting yourself if things go wrong.
2. Getting to know lots of people leads gives you opportunities you never would have anticipated.
3. Don't be afraid to take a risk that will make you really successful - it's OK to kick butt!

Full bio

Evan Bailyn is a serial entrepreneur who became a millionaire by the age of 25. He started eight companies, selling five of them by the age of 29. He is also the author of two books published by Pearson, entitled Outsmarting Google and Social Search: Profiting in the Age of Friendship Marketing.

After graduating from Columbia University, Mr. Bailyn taught himself about search engines, quickly discovering how to rank at the top of Google for any search term. With this knowledge, he established a network of education-related businesses which he later sold.  In 2006, he founded Cartoon Doll Emporium, which was backed by Allen & Co. and became one of the largest children's websites in the world, reaching 70 million unique visitors in 2009.

In March of 2009, he launched First Page Sage, an SEO and social media company serving Fortune 500, celebrity, and political clients.

Mr. Bailyn created the Evan Bailyn Foundation in early 2010, offering grants to causes that prevent child abuse.  His Facebook page, which promotes emotional awareness, is one of the most popular non-celebrity pages on Facebook, with over 100,000 fans.

Mr. Bailyn has been interviewed on ABC and Fox News and featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, Advertising Age, and Money Magazine.
