David Shapiro

Over the past 25 years, my career includes being a venture capitalist, entrepreneur and operator, board member, and mentor/advisor. My experiences span across the technology spectrum, with deep knowledge of software and services (SaaS, cloud) and domain expertise in digital media and programmatic marketing, healthcare IT and healthcare services, as well as the wireless areas.   As an investor, I have expertise across private equity, including early and late stage venture, growth equity, and secondary investments. This includes Board Directorships with >10 private companies, as well as strategic advisory work at the Board and operating levels. My pursuit and passion is helping disruptive technologies and ideas to scale commercially. Pairing my venture and operating experience with long-standing ties to Yale, I'm now Managing Partner at Blue Ivy Ventures, a private, for-profit venture fund for Yale alums to invest in Yale-alumni related businesses.
