I want to change the world.
I get frustrated by there not being enough hours in the day to do everything and others not moving at the same pace.
It's rewarding knowing that my company is giving others the tools they need to go and achieve great things.
Forgetting their users
Focus on getting sales in and getting to a cash positive position
Be humble and take advice from people who know more than you
Help others and accept all help offered
I‘ve been working in tech since 98, working across the spectrum from the network layer to the application layer. In the midst of the dot.com boom I was part of the team that built Streaming Media. It was here I learnt about the power of building, educating and empowering communities both online and offline. At the end of 2000 we sold the company for £65M. It’s this tried and tested formula that is driving DevLab.
The last few years I’ve been actively working with handset manufacturers, platform owners and app technology providers to help them extend their reach in the developer community. Firstly in my role leading global marketing at Marmalade, a cross-platform software company and then in a similar capacity at AngelHack, who run the worlds largest global series of hackathons.
DevLab has been inspired by my collective experience of working in tech and the people within it. Because I feel that we can do a better job of supporting developers on their journey and giving them the right tools for the job.
At DevLab we’re all about collaboration, so please get in touch with me at calypso@thedeveloperlab.com if you’d like to share your ideas about how we can serve the community better.
