Seed Stage

Chairish, a marketplace for buyers and sellers of furniture and home decor, raised $3.2 million in seed funding, from Azure Capital Partners and O’Reilly AlphaTech Venture.

mxHero, which brings the App Store to e-mail systems, raised $1.25 million seed round of funding, with investors including White Star Capital, as well as angel investors Esther Dyson and Ari Kushner.

Shopping service Nifti raised $800,000 in seed funding from Google VenturesOtto Capital and others.

Audiodraft, which helps companies outsource their music and audio production to sound designers and composers, raised $400,000 in a funding round led by 500 Startups and Promus Ventures.

Social weather company Weathermob raised $1.1 Million in angel funding from Mark Hastings, Lord Waheed Alli, Victoria Hackett and Drew Volpe. 

Soma, creator of biodegradable water filters, raised $3.7 million in a round of seed funding led by Baseline Ventures and Forerunner Ventures. Lerer Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Cowboy Ventures, Vast Ventures, Mindful Investors, The 4-Hour Workweek’s Tim Ferriss, Coca-Cola’s Rohan Oza, and Sukhinder Singh Cassidy also participated.

Marketing start up Privy raised a $1.7 million round from Atlas Venture, 500 Startups, John Dais, Mike Volpe, Justin Kitch, Ralph James, Jere Doyle, John Goscha, Sierra Maya Ventures, Genie Bottle Ventures and more angel investors. 

Stayful, a bidding platform in which travelers and hotel owners, raised a $2.4 million seed round from Canaan Partners and a number of angel investors.

 Cloud services aggregator Meldium closed a $1 million seed round from Draper Associates and Founders Co-op. 

Multi-screen advertising company Adbrain raised$1.5m seed funding round from unnamed investors.

Point.io, a backend-as-a-service platform, debuted with a $1.5 million seed round from unnamed investors.

Maker’s Row, a marketplace that connects American manufacturers with businesses, closed a seed round of $1 million co-led by Comcast Ventures and Index Ventures followed on by angels including Joanne Wilson and Alexis Ohanian.


Early Stage

TalentBin, which crawls the Web to compile a profile for technical workers based on implicit information, raised $2 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Lightbank, along with participation from NEA, Foundation Capital and FundersClub.

Berlin-based photo-sharing platform EyeEm raised $6 million in a Series A round led by Earlybird Venture Capital, with help from existing investors Wellington Partners and Passion Capital.

Swell, a  mobile listening experience for news and information that learns what you like as you listen, raised $5.4 million in Series A funding led by DFJ and managing director Josh Stein. Google Ventures, InterWest Partners, Correlation Ventures, and Draper Nexus Ventures also participated in the round.

Job hunting website Venturocket raised a $700,000Series A led by international venture capital firm Runa Capital, along ith Talent Equity Ventures and David Gorodyansky.

Predictive analytics application Context Relevant raised a $7 million Series A round from Madrona Venture Group, Vulcan Capital, Bloomberg Beta, Geoff Entress, and other private investors.

Kit Check, provider of automated pharmacy kit processing software for hospitals, raised $10.4 million in Series A funding round led by New Leaf Venture Partners. Sands Capital Ventures, Easton Capital Investment Group and LionBird also participated in the round. 

Opbeat, a hosted web operations center, raised $2.7 million in Series A funding from Balderton Capital.

Code editor Codeanywhere raised $600,000 in Series A investment capital from World Wide Web Hosting.

TrustRadius, an online platform for user-generated reviews of business software, raised $5 million in Series A financing from Mayfield Fund to scale operations.

Taxibeat, a Greek taxi-hailing startup, raised $2 million in funding from private individual investors. 

KeepSafe, which creates a password-locked photo gallery on people’s phones,raised $3.4 million in a round led by Floodgate. 

Photography-on-demand service Scoopshot raised $1.2 million in a round of funding from Yuri Arcurs.

Mobile job search and application app Proven raised $1 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz.

Mexican online takeout delivery service SinDelantal raised €2.5 million from Spanish VC Seaya Ventures. 

RiskIQ, a provider of website security, raised $10 million in Series A funding from Summit Partners.

Objective Logistics, which offers software used to rank and reward restaurant employees based on their performance, raised a $5.3 million Series A round from Atlas Venture, Google Ventures and Next View Ventures.

Quarterly, a startup that offers a subscription service for gifts, closed $1 million in funding. True Ventures led the round with participation from Collaborative Fund and VegasTechFund.

Grovo, an online platform that trains users on top Internet tools and cloud services with personalized videos, secured a $5.5 million Series A round led by Greg Waldorf, along with Greg Sands of Costanoa Venture Capital and Jeff Clavier of SoftTech VC.

Wine app Vivino received $10.3 million (€7.9 million) in follow-on Series A funding in a round led by Balderton Capital. 

App incubator MEDL Mobile raised a $2 million Series A funding round, which was led by Mishaal Alireza.

Advertising technology company AcuityAds raised $3,000,000 (CAD) from BEST Funds.


Late Stage

Ayasdi, a big data analytics firm, raised $30.6 million in a Series B round of financing from IVP, GE Ventures and Citi Ventrues.

Content marketing software platform Kapost raised $5.6 million in Series C funding from Lead Edge Capital and Floodgate, as well as High Country Venture.

Open-Xchange, maker of web-based communication, collaboration and office productivity software, raised $20 million in funding from United Internet, Hermann-Josef Lamberti and existing shareholders.

Liquor.com, a guide for news and recipes about cocktails and spirits, raised $3.1 million from Suffolk Equity Partners.

Withings, creator of health & wellness smart devices and apps, raised $30 million from Bpifrance. Idinvest Partners, 360 Capital Partners and Ventech.

Mobile learning startup Inkling raised $16 million in Series C financing led by Sequoia Capital, along with Felicis Ventures, Tenaya Capital and JAFCO Technology Partners.

Cross-platform development platform Xamarin raised a $16 million round  led by Lead Edge Capital, with participation from Charles River, Floodgate and Ignition.

Appcelerator, a mobile enterprise platform company, raised $12.1 million in a round led by EDBI. The Social Internet Fund, Mayfield Fund, Sierra Ventures, Storm Ventures, Relay Ventures, Translink Capital, eBay, and RedHa also participated.

Sauce Labs, provider of cloud-based mobile and web application testing solutions, raised a $5 million Series C venture capital investment round led by Toba Capital.

Internet incubator Rocket Internet raised $500 million from Investment AB Kinnevik and Access Industries.

EdgeCast Networks raised $54 million in Series D financing. The round was led by Performance Equity Management (PEM), with follow-on participation from the company’s existing investors Menlo Ventures and Steamboat Ventures.

TOA Technologies, which develops SaaS to help businesses manage their field employees, raised $66 million from Technology Crossover Ventures.

Optoro, which sells SaaS that helps online retailers manage and sell their returned, damaged, and excess inventory, raised $23.5 million in a round led by Revolution Growth Fund.

On-Ramp Wireless, a developer of wireless solutions for energy automation and M2M communications, secured an additional $15 million in its Series C funding round from Enbridge, Third Wave Ventures and Energy Technology Ventures.

Automated cloud migration CloudVelocity closed $13 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Third Point Ventures. Pelion Venture Partners and Mayfield Fund also participated. 

Identity security company Ping Identity closed a $44 million investment round led by W Capital Partners and DFJ Growth with participation from General Catalyst Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Volition Capital, Triangle Peak Partners, SAP Ventures, and Appian Ventures, with debt provided by Silicon Valley Bank.
