Seria entrepreneur Jostein Svendsen in HP Startup Central's Tips for Entrepreneurs

Jostein Svendsen is a successful serial entrepreneur from Europe and the founder of six companies that range in industries including digital media, digital financial services, and digital commerce. Most recently, Svendsen founded Creaza, a company developing services that enable users to collaboratively edit, stream, share and store user-generated video from the cloud. With a number of companies already under his belt, Svendsen’s top tip for new entrepreneurs is to start by working with someone more experienced in building companies who can help keep you from making common mistakes. He shares this insight and more in HP Startup Central’s Tips for Entrepreneurs episode, “It’s About Changing the World.”

Entrepreneurs face many challenges and Svendsen notes how crucial it is to have good colleagues and advisors who can help keep you from having to reinvent the wheel. Regarding what motivates him in his professional career, Svendsen says that for him, “It’s not about making money, it’s actually about changing the world.” He points out that, “If I make a little bit of money, it means that the change I made to the world has been meaningful also to other people and they’re willing to pay for it. But what makes me get up in the morning—it’s all about innovation and doing something nobody else has done before and trying to change the world for the better.” With Creaza being Svendsen’s first venture into North America and Silicon Valley, he is enthusiastic that this may be his best opportunity yet to introduce the world to his latest game-changing technology.
