RIM stock takes plunge after BlackBerry sales disappoint; Russian search giant Yandex files for IPO

Design marketplace 99designs raised a $35 million Series A round led by Accel Partners, with participatiom from several others.


Rich media advertising company Crisp Media raised $6 million in growth capital from existing investors Meritage Funds and Intel Capital, along with EDBI, an investment firm headquartered in Singapore.

 

Ideeli raised $41 million in Series C financing led by Next World Capital, with help from Cue Ball Capital and existing investors StarVest Partners, Constellation Growth Capital, and Kodiak Venture Partners.

Matchbook It launched to be your digital database of matchbooks, an app for bookmarking your favorite places.

After RIM released a report cutting its financial forecast down, RIM stock fell a sharp 10 percent.

 

Autodesk, a 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software company, launched TinkerBox for iPhone and iPod Touch, a new mobile gaming app that inspires interest and creative thinking in solving physics and mechanical engineering challenges.

Online advertising network Visible Measures raised $7.7 million, according to an SEC filing.

 

Yandex, the Google of Russia, officially filed for an IPO. The number of shares to be sold and their price range have not yet been disclosed, but the company has listed Morgan Stanley, Piper Jaffray, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank Securities, and Pacific Crest Securities as its underwriters.
