Mainstream media's problem with social media

A representative sample of Wall Street Journal fans on Facebook

I happened to be reading the Wall Street Journal online. I stumbled upon their Facebook widget, highlighting their fans, including a particular young man with a rather specific social statement on his T-shirt.

Needless to say, these words would never be anywhere on the pages of MarketWatch, when I was a columnist there. MarketWatch is a sister company to the Wall Street Journal.

Check out the WSJ widget and it'll become immediately apparent the challenges that traditional media has with social media.
