Apple announces new iPhone

iPhone 3GS to hit store shelves very soon. June 19th.

Apple made some big announcements about new Macbooks, a new iPhone operating system and showcased some new apps today at WWDC in San Francisco, Ca., but the most exciting was clearly the new iPhone 3GS. The "S" is for Speed, application launching is 2X faster than the 3G.  The new features are listed below.

New still camera.  3 pixel autofocus and zoom lens.

Video camera.  Shoots 30 frames per second with built in editing capabilities.  Allows users to upload directly to YouTube, MMS, email.

Voice control.  "Play the killers." "Call Jim Carrey." "Shuffle songs"

Built in digital compass.

Improved battery life.  Basically about 2-3 hours extra life from iPhone 3G.

Price.  Starts at $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB.

Release date.  Very soon.  June 19th, 2009
