Lessons Learned: It's about results, not effort

Execution and hitting milestones; passion and why startup partners are like partners in marriage

Sid Mohasseb, Vator.tv's newest angel investor and the president of Tech Coast Angels and a partner at Venture Farm (angel network), has this to say to all you entrepreneurs: Execution isn't about hiring people, it's about results. According to Mohasseb, it's not about just applying theory to a problem or overly debating decisions. That will kill your company, he told me. It's about creating a "results-oriented structure." Only when people are willing and accountable to metrics and goals will a company succeed.

Sid went on to say that it's about passion, waking up in the morning feeling like what you're doing that day is the thing you'd most like to be doing in the world - and the only thing you'd like to be doing in this world.

It's not about second guessing or hedging your bets. It's about complete and utter immersion and belief.  And, it's about building a team of people who share that belief.

If you're not a person who is passionate about the cause, willing to produce daily, and be held to those objectives, then the startup business is not for you. I can't agree with you more, Sid.
