“Apple will not distribute applications that contain inappropriate
content, such as pornography,” wrote Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr. “The
developer of this application added inappropriate content directly from
their server after the application had been approved and distributed,
and after the developer had subsequently been asked to remove some
offensive content. This was a direct violation of the terms of the
iPhone Developer Program. The application is no longer available on the
App Store.”
*UPDATE* If you could not find this app, don't panic - Apple did not remove it. The developer asked Apple to temporarily take it off the App store. Apparently it's causing major server usage due to its popularity. Here's a post from developer's site.
"The Hottest Girls app is temporarily sold out. The server usage is extremely high because of the popularity of this app. Thus, by not distributing the app, we can prevent our servers from crashing. Those who already have the app will still be able to use our app. To answer the question on everyone's mind: Yes, the topless images will still be there when it is sold again. -ATG dev team"
See that investor you think is checking out stocks on his iPhone? Well, he's probably flipping through a gallery of topless women, debating which one to download for his next wallpaper - and no, his phone is not jailbroken.
"Hottest Girls," an app that sells for $1.99 in the official App store, has released an update which allows users to view and download images of topless women.
How did the virgin Apple allow for this, you ask?
Well, with the release of the iPhone OS 3.0 software update, comes several new features including parental controls. This enables mommys and daddys to control what their kids can access on their phones. So for example, no more Eminem, no more porn sites in Safari, no more edgy YouTube videos, and now - no more 17+ iPhone apps, which are being sold - like the one listed above.
Allen Leung, maker of this which will soon to become landmark app, simply stated yesterday, "We uploaded nude topless pics today. This is the first app to have nudity." Leung's app has been out since May 29 of this year. All aside, this event opens the door for the multi-billion dollar porn industry to take a step onto the iPhone platform.
"Hottest Girls," is rated "17+ for frequent/intense sexual content or nudity, frequent/intense mature/suggestive themes."
Let's just wait and see how many sex and porn apps get launched in the next few months, or if Apple cuts this debauchery off soon enough!
