New nano-blogging service by Slate for flapping rather than tweeting

Twitter is the darling of the blogosphere, as we all know. Last week, it was even speculated that Google was in late-stage discussions to buy the micro-blogging service.

But Twitter may just be yesterday's news. After all, reading a tweet is starting to become time consuming in today's real-time world.

So, now, there's Flutter. A new service for those who want to flap, rather than tweet. The service allows people to post 26 characters. "I think a lot of people don't have time to Twitter... it takes too long to compose a message of 140 characters," said Zak Ryman, CEO of Flutter. "We limit our users' posts - or flaps - because it's like hummingbird's wings flapping, which is really fast, which is faster than a regular bird's tweets."

OK. This new service is clearly a spoof on Twitter. Watch the video.
