Edlyft raised $1.4M; Stairwell landed $4.5M; Tilt Five secured $7.5M; StrongDM picks up $17M

Edlyft: Edlyft is a San Francisco-based engineering ed-tech platform. Edlyft has raised $1.4 million in seed funding from backers Y Combinator, Kleiner Perkins, Village Global, Kapor Capital, Backstage Capital, and January Ventures. Read more

Shotcall: Shotcall is a Atlanta, Ga.-based platform and marketplace for e-sports fans to play games alongside their favorite content creator. Shotcall has raised $2.2 million in seed funding led by Initial Capital, New Stack and Lerer Hippeau. Read more 

Stairwell: Stairwell is a Palo Alto, Ca.-based cybersecurity startup. Stairwell has raised $4.5 million in seed funding. Accel led the round, joined by Sequoia Capital, Gradient Ventures, and Allen & Co. The company was founded by Mike Wiacek, who was most recently chief security officer at Chronicle, Google’s moonshot cybersecurity company. Read more

AppFollow: AppFollow is a Helsinki-based app management startup. AppFollow has raised a $5 million Series A round led by Barcelona’s Nauta Capital, joined by earlier investors Vendep Capital and RTP Global. Read more 

Nice Healthcare: Nice Healthcare is a Minneapolis, Mn.-based provider of in-home and virtual primary care services. Nice Healthcare has raised $5 million in seed funding led by Indie.vc, with participation from Conductive Ventures and Waterline Ventures. Read more

Priori Legal: Priori Legal is a New York-based legal marketplace that aims to quickly connect  teams with the right attorney for any project globally. Priori Legal has raised $6.3 million in Series A funding. Investors in the round include Hearst Corporation Great Oaks Venture Capital, Jambhala, Tim Steinert (who is the former general counsel of Alibaba Group), Mindset Ventures, Bridge Venture Fund and Orrick’s Legal Technology Fund. Tilt Five: Tilt Five a San Jose, Ca based entertainment system provider that uses proprietary augmented reality (AR) glasses, a game board, and a wand controller to engage players in tabletop and video games in 3D holographic environments. Tilt Five announced that it has secured $7.5 million in Series A funding.  SIP Global Partners led the round with participation from top-tier investors BITKRAFT Ventures, Galaxy Interactive, Logitech, and games industry innovator Ken Birdwell. Gig Wage: Gig Wage is a Dallas, Tex.-based startup focused on helping contractors get paid faster and more efficiently. Gig Wage has raised $7.5 million in a Series A round led by publicly traded Green Dot. Other participants in the round include Continental Investors, Techstars, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, and others. Read more

Twingate:  Twingate allows IT professionals to connect an employee’s device into the corporate network much more flexibly than a VPN. Twingate secures $17 million$ in Series A funding from leading venture capital firms WndrCo, 8VC, SignalFire, Green Bay Ventures and Dropbox founders Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi. Read more

StrongDM: StrongDM is a Burlingame, Ca.-based database access control platform. StrongDM has raised $17 million in Series A funding led by Sequoia Capital. Read more
