Bambi Francisco Roizen speaks with Frances A. Ayalasomayajula, Head of Population Health Worldwide at HP, and Frank Ille, Founder and CEO of HealthSaaS about their COVID-19 remote assessment tool to help people stay at home and screen themselves for the virus. You can go to: covid19checkup.net - to take a test (takes a few minutes). The assessment tool is provided by HealthSaaS and AkēLex, in collaboration with HP.
This is significantly important as the each of us should do our part not to overload the healthcare system. If we don't need to go to the hospital to get tested, but we are experiencing certain symptoms, then we should self-test ourselves first.
At the time of this interview, the check-up tool (or checker) had been peaking at 300 assessments per minute, though the data had not yet been collected to know what percent of assessments showed the likelihood of having the virus. At the moment, the checker is collecting zip codes and can identify pockets of concern from around the world. If someone is flagged as likely to have COVID-19, they can take their assessment and go to a testing area and show them their evaluation.
The checker is connected to HealthSaaS's CarePath AI platform, which essentially integrates multiple biometric devices to help monitor a patient remotely. But this platform is already in use for multiple chronic conditions. Check with your provider to see if they are using the HP Hub technology, which is a box with multiple devices, depending on the condition.
For instance, if someone has COVID19, a provider may want to monitor blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and body temperature. For a patient with congestive heart failure, a provider may want to monitor weight, activity, and medication adherence.
The beauty of the platform is that all these devices are already connected and can be viewed on a dashboard by providers so they can treat their patients at home.
The below, shows the HealthSaaS connected device portfolio and these devices are available for kitting from HP.
