Kover.ai and Soundcheck raised $1.5M; Gradeup landed $7M; Boulevard closed $11M

Kover.ai: Kover.ai invites businesses to use its API to build and distribute insurance products to their own customers. Kover.ai has raised $1.5 million in seed funding led by West Loop Venture, with participation from Afore Capital and Techstars Ventures. Read more

Soundcheck: Soundcheck helps optimize web content for voice. Soundcheck has raised $1.5 million in seed funding, including from True Ventures, Resolute Ventures, Automattic, Twitter cofounder Biz Stone and Caterina Fake of Yes VC. Read more

Robocorp: Robocorp wants to bring open source and robotic process automation together. Robocorp has raised $5.6 million in seed funding led by Benchmark, with participation from Slow Ventures, firstminute Capital, Bret Taylor (currently president and chief product officer at Salesforce) and Docker CEO Rob Bearden. Gradeup: Gradeup operates an exam preparation platform for undergraduate and postgraduate level courses. Gradeup has raised $7 million from Times Internet.  Read more   

Boulevard: Boulevard makes back-office management software for the salon and spa industry. Boulevard has raised $11 million in Series A funding, including from Index Ventures and Bonfire Ventures. Read more

Centrical: Centrical is an employee engagement and performance management platform. Centrical has raised $13 million in funding led by Aleph, with participation from earlier investor JVP. Read more

Sila Nanotechnologies: Sila Nanotechnologies claims its battery materials can improve the energy density and reach of traditional lithium-ion batteries. Sila Nanotechnologies has raised $45 million in new funding from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Read more
