If you're a startup seeking opportunities to get funded, educated or connected, startup competitions are a great resource.

As part of our weekly series, we'll look at top competitions with big cash prizes, as well as competitions that have teed up the most promising startups, to finding popular startup competitions you need to know about. 

Here are some of the startup competitions for entrepreneurs in Australia:

 

Description: "Four outstanding businesses will be selected to appear on stage and pitch before a community of investors, corporates, creative leaders, and change makers. The winner will take home a host of money-can’t-buy prizes."

Prize: The winners of Creative3 Pitch will clock up some major frequent flyer miles as they present their venture across Europe. The prize package includes flights to Denmark where the winner will represent Australia at the Creative Business Cup (CBC). 

The team will then travel to London and meet an exclusive network of 25 leading entrepreneurs at the world renowned Virgin StartUp (VSU) mini accelerator program, StepUp. Over the two day intensive, the Virgin StartUp mentors will skyrocket their venture from startup to scaleup.

This prize, valued at over $30K, will also include professional legal and accounting services contributed by our partners.

  • The Addisons Award for the most 'backable' team: The winner will receive $5k in cash, plus legal advice to the value of $5k to the most ‘backable’ team.
  • The Amazon Web Services Award: All finalists will have the opportunity to join the AWS Activate startup program, which can include $5,000 in credits, business support for a year and access to engineers and solution architects, as part of AWS' commitment to the startup community.
  • The AMP Amplify Award for best technology startup founded by a woman: The winner will receive $2.5k cash prize awarded to a female entrepreneur who is the builder of an innovative, ground-breaking and/or game-changing company.
