Hubtype raised $1.1M; Virtuous closed $3M; MedCrypt landed $5.3M; CollegeDekho secured $8M

Aito: Aito gives new meaning to intuitive and safe operation of electronic devices. Aito has raised €1 million in seed funding, including from Nokia Chairman Risto Siilasmaa. Others investors include Hermitage, UMO Capital, and Business Finland. Read more  

Hubtype: Hubtype empowers developers to build, deploy and scale conversational messaging apps and integrate them with enterprise softwares with React. Hubtype has raised $1.1 million in seed funding. The Madrid-based early-stage VC firm K Fund led the round. Read more  

Liquid Death: Liquid Death is an L.A.-based water brand. Liquid Death has raised $1.6 million in seed funding led by earlier backer Science Inc, with additional participation from Dollar Shave Club founder Michael Dubin, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, and Away co-founder Jen Rubio. Read more

Urban Jungle: Urban Jungle is an insurance technology business based in the UK. Urban Jungle leverages technology to help young customers get access to cheaper, better, home insurance. Urban Jungle has raised £2.5 million in seed funding, including from Rob Devey, the former CEO of Prudential UK, and Simon Rogerson, CEO of Octopus Group. Read more  

Virtuous Software: Virtuous is the enterprise generosity platform helping charities do more good by re-imagining donor software. Virtuous has raised $3 million in Series A funding, including from MATH Venture Partners. Read more  

MedCrypt: MedCrypt provides medical device data security as a service. MedCrypt has raised $5.3 million in new funding led by Section 32, with participation from Eniac Ventures and Y Combinator. Read more  

CollegeDekho: CollegeDekho is an educational advertising market. CollegeDekho has raised $8 million in Series B funding. Its parent company, Girnarsoft Education, co-led the round with the London-based private equity investor Man Capital, an earlier investor. Read more  

Kolmostar: Kolmostar is a positioning technology company that revamps the positioning approach in environments for internet-of-things devices. Kolmostar has raised $10.5 million in Series A funding. Momenta Ventures led the round; other participants include Ab Initio Capital, Frees Fund, Eastern Bell Venture Capital and StarVC. Read more  

Promethera Biosciences: Promethera Biosciences is a biopharmaceutical company focused on cell therapy products to treat liver diseases. Promethera Biosciences has raised €39.7 million ($44.4 million) in Series D funding co-led by Itochu and Shinsei Capital Partners. Read more  

FLEXE: FLEXE connects you to warehouse capacity when, where, and how you need it. FLEXE has raised $43 million in Series B funding co-led by Activate Capital and Tiger Global Management, with participation from Madrona Venture Group, Redpoint Ventures, and Prologis Ventures. Read more
