Read more...The new implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that went into effect across the European Union has many widespread implications across the globe. Not only did it cause some major sites to experience blackouts in affected locations, but it is causing issues with different email services due to how these services deliver tracking data.
While companies have had time to adjust to these new regulations, there is just so much to it that it can be a bit overwhelming to keep up with who exactly can receive email with tracking information and who cannot. There are some companies that have been planning for this, however, including outbound communications platform, Mixmax.
With Mixmax, you get an assortment of tools that you can use with Gmail, Google Inbox, and Salesforce that makes setting appointments, tracking emails and read receipts, creating templates, and automation directly in your preferred email client.
Now, the company has added functionality to help meet GDPR guidelines by letting users decide when tracking is included in the email. There are even filters for email campaigns that will exclude just EU recipients, making sending large sets of emails simple and quick, while still maintaining compliance.
It is a small thing, sure, but we'll continue to find companies creating tools like these as we all navigate through some of the more intricate details of the GDPR.
