Brings years of experience to the on-demand insurance startup

The insurtech startup Slice Labs has brought Tom Hutton onto the Board of Directors. Tom Hutton, Managing Partner of XL Innovate, brings years of leadership experience and time directing in both the private and public insurance sectors. Hutton has served on the XL Group Board of Directors and as CEO at Risk Management Solutions and White Mountains Insurance Group.

In a statement from Tim Attia, CEO at Slice Labs, “Tom’s experience is unparalleled in the world of insurance and analytics, as well as fintech startups. He provides the most strategic mind in the industry; key to scaling our new insurance products."

Slice Labs was founded in 2015 and to date has raised $3.9 million in funding. With an increased number of workers looking in to the on-demand economy there has been an increase in the need for insurance that is as flexible as they are. Slice specializes in offering on-demand positions like Uber and Lyft the ability to have comprehensive insurance, but only when they need it. With a push of a button, drivers can access the insurance during working hours, and simply turn it off when not on the clock.

Hutton will be joining the Slice Labs co-founders and Frances Xang of Horizons Ventures on the Board of Directors. Slice is headquartered in New York City; to find out more about the company check out their website here.
