Kendall Collins joins the board of directors for Algolia

Kendall Collins, formerly global CMO of Salesforce and more recently CMO of AppDynamics, has joined the board of directors for the search API, Algolia. Collins has been brought on to help guide the company through their growth and help bring the more growth to it due to his immense knowledge in the SaaS realm.

Algolia

Algolia is essentially search for your website or app. Yes, Google does a great job at searching the web for information, but when you're searching within a website or app and using Google search, you're essentially leaving the website to pull information and then it's bringing you back to the website with results.

Using Algolia's hosted API solution for your website or app lets users have more in-depth searches directly in the application. The API uses an ultra-fast backend to speed search results up and uses a Distributed Search Network to pull information and data from across the web to better deliver search results within your application. Algolia works with all languages and uses Geo-Search to optimize user results.

Speaking on Algolia, Collins says,

“Google continues to raise the bar for delightful search for end users, and most companies and apps are failing to keep pace with that user experience. When I first tried Algolia, it was clear to me that their Search Platform and API approach is the future for easily building incredibly fast and relevant search inside any application.”

“Algolia has already proven to be trusted by enterprises and loved by developers. Anyone can try it now on Product Hunt, Hacker News, or leading sites and apps such as Periscope, Arcteryx, Medium and Vevo. They have just successfully deployed at one of the top 5 software companies in the world and also at one of the top 5 retailers. And this is just the beginning. It is an honor to work with a team that has such a strong technical vision and an equally caring and compassionate culture.”
