Obama have both reiterated many times during the campaign, we Americans do have a clear choice.  We wonder whether the election process will be able to discern the winner and loser in short order.  We wonder whether the outcome of the election will be complicated by “hanging chads”, lawsuits, Supreme Court decisions, and yes even voter fraud.

Certainly there is a clear choice.  We must decide who we believe is best equipped to bring Americans together, toward the middle of the political spectrum.  We must decide who has the better leadership skills to lead America into the middle of the 21st century. We are a divided nation and as someone said, “as a divided nation, we cannot stand”.

The issues are many and most Americans will determine for whom they will cast their ballot based on how the handling of the issues impact their personal lives.  On the other hand, if we were to the dissect the key issues and choose a candidate who approaches these issues in a way that would improve the quality of life for all Americans as a unified nation, it may look something like the following:

1. Eight percent unemployment:

Is federal government or the private sector best able to improve the lot of the unemployed and underemployed?

2. Healthcare:

Is Obamacare the right answer for the desperate situation that American healthcare finds itself?  The Affordable Care Act (ACA) clearly has many good elements, including coverage of pre-existing illnesses, and ensuring the 30 to 50 million Americans who currently do not have health care coverage.  The difficulty, however, is that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) does not outline a method for payment of this increased coverage, it does not provide for a process to improve the quality of American healthcare, nor does it provide a process to decrease the unsustainable and rapidly increasing the cost of healthcare.  American voters must determine who is best able to refine the healthcare system in a way that will provide cost-effective, high quality healthcare to all Americans. This decision comes down to leaving ACA as is or altering it in a way that has an ability to resolve the outstanding uncertainties.
