What digital health trends are VCs embracing and ignoring?

Read more...You just never know what to expect from David Hornik, the partner at August Capital, who is our host for his own special program called Late Night with David Hornik, showed exclusively at our Vator Splash events.
At the last Late Night, Josh Felser brought up a zebra hat which Hornik proceeded to wear, for the first few minutes. (Check out photos here.)
This time, Hornik tapped into the American pop culture psyche by bringing on his version of the hugely-popular Gangnam Style dance onto the Splash stage. Gangnam Style is a single released this summer by a South Korean rapper. The video has been viewed more than 330 million times on YouTube. And, as Hornik calculates, must have already generated $3.5 million from the advertisements alone.
Watch Hornik kick off his show by doing the Gangnam Style dance with Ben Parr. Hornik then proceeds to interview his guests in a late-night format, with each coming out one at a time. His guests include Amy Errett from Maveron, Adam Nash from Greylock, Dan Scholnick from Trinity Ventures, Bryan Goldberg of Bleacher Report, and Jeff Smith of Smule.
Not surprisingly, this segment is not your every day VC panel. The conversation touches on gay venture capitalists, or "Venture Gays," to bagels, short Jews, bad pianists, venture worshipping, and why getting a PhD from Stanford is equivalent to spending lavishly in Vegas.
For a good write-up, check out Faith Merino's: Late Night: Why practice venture worship.
