Beck blasted left-leaning Google on Weds. and urged viewers to avoid Google products at home

Google has been waging an epic battle against a number of formidable foes...Apple, Facebook, the European Union, to name a few. The company has come under fire from consumer watchdog organizations and has been slammed with antitrust accusations. Today, Google can count a new arch nemesis among the many others: Glenn Beck.

On Wednesday, Glenn Beck sat down to have a heart-to-heart with his viewers about Google, a là Mr. Rogers. His verdict: Google is too leftist, and he will personally be making a concerted effort to start avoiding Google's products on a day-to-day basis.

Hear that, Google? You just lost yourself a customer!

Interestingly, Google's leftist leanings took center stage among Beck's concerns, while privacy worries were added in as a sort of secondary issue, even though Google's alleged wi-spy campaign is typically the issue that gets most anti-Google harpies in a froth.

"I've told you for a couple of years now that my gut has told me that something is wrong with Google," Beck told his viewers with the tone and facial expressions you would expect from a Branch Davidian getting ready to tell the wife and kids to head to the bunker. "They're working way too close for my comfort with hardcore leftists."

Which hardcore leftists? Beck explained that former Google CEO Eric Schmidt is on the White House Council for Science and Technology, which is co-chaired by John Holdren, who is also the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and has emphasized the influence of human actions on climate change and environmental degradation. Holdren has argued that global population growth needs to slow down to avoid overtaxing natural resources.

But the horror doesn't end there. Schmidt is also on the board of an organization called the Politics of Trust Network. Who else is on that board? None other than Van Jones--former White House Green Jobs Czar who resigned in 2009 amid right-wing accusations of being a communist. Joining Van Jones is Drummond Pike, founder of the Tides Foundation, which is committed to advancing progressive causes.

But no Glenn Beck run-to-the-bunker! rant would be complete without a George Soros mention. Beck mentioned that Google has donated to MoveOn.org..."Oh!" Beck exclaimed in mock surprise. "George Soros is doing that, too!"

So what sent Beck's Spidey senses tingling about Google? Egypt. Specifically, it was Eric Schmidt's statement earlier this week that he and Google are very proud of Wael Ghonim, a Google exec in Egypt who helped coordinate the pro-democracy protests that led to the ouster of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak.

"I'm really not sure that I want my search engine involved in government overthrows," said Beck, who sat beside a television screen showing clips of protests in Egypt, Tunisia, Iran, Yemen, and Bahrain. "These are the different countries in riots right now...the outcome in each of these, whether it be freedom, extremism, socialism, or communism--the outcome will be dependent upon which was the best organized in each country."

Beck urged viewers at home to do their own "homework" on Google and email the show to tell them how they're avoiding Google products at home. Check out the video below:
