Amazon released a statement reporting the third-generation Kindle is the best-selling product in Amazon’s history. It beat the previous champion, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’. The company also announced that on its peak day, Nov. 29, customers ordered more than 13.7 million items worldwide. This translates to a record-breaking 158 items per second.
Skype has been hit with a patent infringement lawsuit in the United States. Suit was filed by Gradient Enterprises, a non-practicing entity, for U.S. patent no. 7,669,207. The patent is called, “Method For Detecting, Reporting And Responding To Network Node-Level Events And a System Thereof”.
Facebook has been given an enterprise value of $41.2 billion. This was larger than Twitter, Zynga, LinkedIn or Groupon. This number is lower than the recent $50 billion assessed on November 30th.
Julian Assange, found of WikiLeaks, is writing an autobiography. The book will be published in the U.S. and the U.K. He will receive $800,000 from U.S. publisher Alfred A. Knopf, and $502,000 from UK publisher Canongate Books Ltd.
