Patch, Geomentum team up for hyperlocal ads

Geomentum will build hyperlocal ad campaigns on Patch's network of 800 sites

 

Ad agency Geomentum and AOL’s hyperlocal news service Patch have decided to join forces to cover the gamut of digital hyperlocal services, according to a joint announcement made Thursday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but under the agreement, Geomentum will deliver scaled digital advertising solutions to its clients via the creation of hyperlocal advertising campaigns on Patch sites.

A division of IPG’s Mediabrands, Geomentum is a specialty local media service designed to drive customers into local stores and drive leads to service providers. The company utilizes proprietary geospatial technology to deliver hyperlocal ads and engage shoppers while managing over $2 million in local billings for retail, restaurant, hospitality, and CPG brands.

In short, Geomentum is working to help retailers and other local business owners make the switch from traditional newspaper and radio advertising to digital advertising, which will fall in naturally with Patch’s hyperlocal digital news service, which currently spans 800 locations in 20 states throughout the U.S. Additionally, Patch recently launched Patch Latino to serve the Spanish-speaking population.

Patch’s partnership with Geomentum falls in line with Patch’s recent efforts to expand its hyperlocal offerings. Last week, Patch announced that it had teamed up with Serve, the new mobile wallet solution created by American Express, to launch Patch Deals, a hyperlocal daily deal site that will rely on a co-branded card to allow users to load and redeem deals without having to print off coupons or remember codes.
