And it isn't selling premium video downloads...

The thing about YouTube, is it's continually making efforts at building a profitable business.  I mean, it's starting to partner with big media companies like Time Warner in order to stream TV shows online, like Hulu already does, and now it's launching its own online store

A clothing store.  Yesterday YouTube launched its own clothing line, well not really, but is now selling a bunch of t-shirts, sweaters, hats and other goodies online.

Prices for YouTube memorabilia start at $5.35 for YouTube's famous "Tube" socks and go all the way up to $80.55 YouTube "collector's edition" black jacket.  If everybody who watches a YouTube video a day bought one of these, YouTube could be on its way to making some serious cash.

In reality, these are the things YouTube should be constantly giving away to its fans for free, not selling at ridiculously expensive prices.  I mean, heck, its free advertising for YouTube when any of us wear or use their swag, so maybe give away a pair of "tube" socks to users who reach 100K video plays or something similar.

But, if you are looking for some organic eco-friendly clothes, this may be the store for you, YouTube explains, "Like most everything (but not all items) in the store, many of the products are eco-friendly, made from organic fabrics or recycled materials."
