12seconds.tv, a video micro-blogging site which lets users upload short videos limited to 12 seconds max, is doing its best to work around the iPhone's lack of video support.

Founded in 2008, 12seconds.tv has managed to gain some attention, including being featured on Scobleizer.tv, and being nominated for "Best Bootstrapped Startup" at the recent 2008 Crunchies Awards.

12seconds recently realized that nobody wanted to pay a dollar for their iPhone app probably because it's not really video.  The app allows you to take 3 photos of whatever you'd like, record 12 seconds of audio, and then upload the photos to your 12seconds page.  12seconds then automatically adds in animation to the slides following the popular, "Ken Burns Effect" aesthetic.

Anyways, its the closest thing we have at the moment to video recording on the iPhone, if you haven't Jailbroken your iPhone yet.

The app is currently free for a limited time, and it's free to sign up for a 12seconds account.  If your interested in video micro blogging with your iPhone, I recommend it, and if you're wondering, why only 12 seconds? According to the site,

"Because anything longer is boring. The scientists here at the 12seconds dodecaplex have conducted countless hours of research to determine the precise amount of time it takes for boredom or apathy to set in during typical Internet video viewing. Our patent pending Electro-Tear-Duct Prongers have determined that exactly 12 seconds of video is the ideal amount of time to keep anything interesting."
