Rentcycle lets you discover, compare and book goods for rent online.
As the first online rental marketplace, Rentcycle provides businesses
greater visibility to a targeted audience and converts online leads
into online sales.
Rentcycle successfully brings the rental industry online.
Hello from 30,000 feet! Enjoying in-flight wifi and following up on leads after Rentcycle's debut to the rental industry. Successful week!
on February 11
Rentcycle is free for consumers to use. We make money through commission and promotional fees, both paid by the rental businesses.
Each rental business gets a listing in the Rentcycle marketplace with free access to our reservation and inventory management tools. For converting an online lead into an online sale, Rentcycle takes 10% of the transaction cost. Rentcycle gets no commission until a reservation is made.
Rentcycle will also offer enhanced listings to rental businesses looking to increase their visibility in the marketplace. This will be offered as a monthly advertising fee.
Two trends are currently emerging in the space of consumer Internet. First is the movement to bring local service providers online. Second is the gravitation toward renting as a viable option for exchange because of its economic and sustainable benefits.
Rentcycle delivers on both of these trends by giving consumers direct access to rental business inventory in real-time. We do this by serving local businesses in order to increase efficiency. To date, we are the only company doing this.
Tim is most interested in how the intersection of business and
design can lead to innovation and meaningful experiences for the
consumer. Prior to founding Rentcycle, Tim worked in business development for Cheskin, an innovation consulting firm. Before that, he was Brand Manager at Red Hat
Inc, where he strategically managed the brand portfolio for this global
software company. Tim graduated with distinction from Duke University with a BA
in Visual Arts (graphic design) and Certificates in Markets &
Management Studies and Film, Video, and Digital Media. When he's not designing the company website or visiting rental shops, Tim competes in triathlons and explores the California coast with his wife and dog, Stella.
