Team

Janine Yorio

NewSeed Advisors was founded by Janine Yorio, who has worked in finance for the past twelve years.  She began her finance career as an investment banker at Salomon Brothers, and then worked as a vice president in real estate finance at HypoVereinsbank, NorthStar Capital and most recently for a well-known boutique hotel company.

During that time, Janine originated, analyzed, structured, and asset managed over $1.5 billion in private equity-style transactions, each ranging from $10 to $700 million in size.  She originated over $100 million in structured debt investments, raised over $750 million in debt financing, served as the analyst for three successful initial public offerings, and managed a portfolio of $110 million in joint venture investments.

In addition to the transactions she closed, she also analyzed thousands of other transactions, including some that made sense and which generated robust returns to investors and others which ultimately cost investors millions.  Seeing the entire spectrum of investments (from failsafe to ultra-risky) gave her a unique outlook on the investment industry.   As time passed, the real estate sector overheated and spawned a nationwide frenzy to cash in on the bonanza.

She emerged from the real estate bubble with strong analytical skills, a robust network of Wall Street contacts and an insider's perspective on the institutional investment world.  (For example, she can explain, in layman's terms, why investment professionals usually get rich even when their investments fail.)

Now, through NewSeed Advisors, Janine is committed to applying her insider knowledge toward a more noble goal, one that revolves around people and which contributes to the greater good of mankind and mother earth.

Janine is a graduate of Yale University.
