ViVOtech is a market leader in contactless/NFC payment software, over the air (OTA) card provisioning, promotion, and transaction management infrastructure software, NFC smart posters, and contactless readers/writers.
These innovative solutions allow consumers to make contactless payments with radio frequency-enabled credit cards, debit cards, key fobs, and NFC-enabled mobile phones. ViVOtech's products are used by some of the most prominent retailers in the United States.
ViVOtech's products are in use at movie theaters, fast food restaurants (QSR), casual dining establishments, convenience stores, gas stations, drug stores, grocery stores, buses, taxicabs and vending machine locations, enabling a wide variety of businesses to accept contactless/NFC payments.
Founded in 2001, ViVOtech is privately held and headquartered in Santa Clara, CA. Other offices are located in Asia and in Europe. Investors include venture capital company Draper Fisher Juvertson, Nokia Growth Ventures and Alloy Ventures as well as strategic investor First Data Corporation as well as 2 Fortune 500 strategic investors.
Michael Mullagh (CEO):
Mick Mullagh is the Chief Executive Officer of ViVOtech, Inc. Mr. Mullagh is an experienced wireless industry leader who has served as the head of two wireless carriers and two growth stage start ups. With 18 years of executive-level experience Mullagh has a successful track record of building and managing fast-growth businesses. Prior to joining ViVOtech, Mr. Mullagh served from 2001 to 2004 as President and CEO of Telephia, the market leader in performance information for the mobile telecommunications industry, leading the company through three years of extremely rapid growth in revenues and margins. From 1997 to 2000 he was CEO of Whisper Communications, a provider of last mile wireless telemetry networks.
From 1992 to 1997 Mr. Mullagh served in various leadership positions at Rogers Wireless, Canada’s largest wireless carrier (formerly known as Cantel AT&T), including President and COO and Executive Vice President of Marketing and Technology. There he was responsible for the launch of Canada’s first Digital PCS network. During his tenure the company underwent considerable growth of its operating margins, customer base and national network, and saw substantial reductions in churn and customer acquisition costs. From 1977 to 1992, Mr. Mullagh worked at BC Tel (now a part of Telus Corporation), Canada’s second largest telecommunications company, where he rose to the position of President and COO of BC Tel Mobility. Under his leadership, it became the most profitable cellular company in North America. Mr. Mullagh graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, with an honors degree in Economics. He later received a Master’s degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University in Canada.
