Emerging Artist Productions
Initiated over six years ago, Emerging Artist Productions began when filmmakers Sinohui and Joel H. Hinojosa teamed with producer Bernard Fok, establishing a SF Bay Area film company that would be open to every facet of collaborative works, from narrative film in both short and long form, to documentaries and new media projects.
Managing an independent group of non-union freelancers, we have developed and perfected High Definition workflows, creating film-like quality on shoestring budgets, which we used on commercial projects and marketing spots for local businesses and Fortune 500 companies alike. Our core team has grown to include cinematographers, gaffers, editors and writers, who along with producer/directors like Thomas Koch have made Emerging Artist Productions a solid company with a proven track record.
By working with like minded collaborators, we have been able to showcase talents and abilities, within our community...plus we allow for the instruction and mentoring of new filmmakers, so that emerging talent is an always present aspect of our company's mission into the future.
The web series, EXIT Stage Left (our most recent project) launched on December 25th, 2008 to positive reviews, please click the link to review.

Business model
We are filmmakers that have proven experience in creative services, production support and distribution, with a solid plan for changing the way independent projects are produced and turn into revenue producing entities.
With a minimum of three film projects each calendar year, we will provide a new source of high quality productions for television, limited theatrical and DVD including BluRay, with secured distribution in line PRIOR to filming each project.
With distribution in place, we will work to fulfill the needs of specifically given demographics, targeting genre films (horror, action, sci-fi, thriller) and enabling us to deliver films that we know will be welcomed in the marketplace and profitable.

Competitive advantage
Merging the worlds of independent filmmaking, the latest in digital
cinema technology and established distribution channels, our film slate
allows for the highest quality film production at a fraction of the
traditional costs, with a greater opportunity for profit with DVD,
cable and television, plus world-wide licensing ready to go.
Most film projects go into production with the hope of distribution
or at minimum the promised of limited self-distribution. Our plan
includes tying our projects to distributors in advance, which allows us
to secure pre-sales from foreign buyers, work on outputs deals from
cable and syndicators (up-fronts), where the ROI becomes better realized, in a shorter amount of time.

IP and defensibility
Technology has changed the way films are made, but with the advent of HD and better quality digital films, the costs have remained on par with traditional 35mm film/studio projects.
By utilizing the new RED one digital cinema camera, we are able to level the expenses for both production and post, allowing us the ability to produce studio-level quality, for a fraction of the costs.
A five million dollar film with minor stars (akin to the Sci-Fi channel movies) normally takes 3-8 months of shooting and 3-8 months of production; by using this new technology we are able to shoot faster, review footage immediately and produce a feature film within 4 months. All shooting, all production, all post services, completed within 4 months for a fifth of the same costs.
The Last Job will take less than a month to shoot and a finished film will be available for distribution in May. We shall be attending the American Film Market (Nov 2008) to license foreign distribution rights.
