We are entrepreneurs with a global perspective who invest in passionate entrepreneurs with disruptive, powerful ideas.

Through our experience building Skype, Joost and Kazaa, we understand the value of game-changing business models and have created a worldwide network to help accelerate the growth of the companies in which we invest.

Founded by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis, Atomico is a tightly-knit team of 15 people whose relationships span Europe, the US, South America and Asia. Many Atomico team members have worked together before, allowing us to leverage the strength of our relationships around the world to help grow portfolio companies.

We primarily invest in entrepreneurs working in consumer facing technology businesses in Europe. However we are open-minded and more excited by great teams executing big ideas than in specific regions, sectors and markets.

We invest in early stage ideas but can be opportunistic when we find a compelling opportunity. We like to lead our investments, but often partner with other investors to create a diversified team to support the entrepreneurs.

We help our portfolio companies by being involved when they need us, and giving them space when they don't. And being entrepreneurs ourselves, we have a lot of fun when we work closely with the management teams of companies we invest in.
