I have a strong desire to work in an in-house legal department for a large corporation or a small to large law firm. I am seeking a company or firm that offers long term employment, appreciates loyalty and hard work and offers advancement based on achievement. I currently hold an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Paralegal with an emphasis in Legal Secretarial. I am a recent graduate of the UCLA Extension Paralegal Training Program and have completed over eighty hours of course work at University of Colorado Denver working towards my undergraduate degree in Political Science with a Law Studies minor. I have a cumulative total of twelve years in the legal field as both a Paralegal and a Legal Assistant to include administrative experience and secretarial as well. Executive Administrative Assistant skills: coordinating meetings, event planning, prepare expense reports, direct contact with industry professionals, calendaring, taking and making calls on behalf of executives and department heads, database creation and management, prepare in-house memorandums and disseminate information regarding company changes and updates. Paralegal skills: case and file management, client advocacy, attend meetings in person and by telephone, write comprehensive reports, direct contact with professionals and clients, legal research, drafting of correspondence, redlining business documents, contracts and pleadings, all phases of trial preparation, billing, calendaring, general clerical duties, computer software trouble shooting, answering telephones, filing, office supply inventory and ordering, major multitasking, organization, time management and problem solving abilities. Proficeint with Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 Professional and Timeslips, familiarity working with Concordance, Live Note and Case Map, Lexis E-file and PACER. I have knowledge of state and federal filing procedures and a basic understanding of procedures and timelines regarding civil actions.
