What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

The frustrating part is that not everyone understands how much better the world could be with your vision in place. The rewarding part is when other people love how much better you've made their lives.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

Wasting time by building too much without customer demand for it, and before achieving product-market fit.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

Ideas are a dime a dozen, execution makes winners.
Prioritization of where to spend your time is key, otherwise you'll end up spinning your wheels.
Don't let bad news crush you, think of a way to turn it into good news.

Steven has been building web apps and internet startups since the 90s. After earning Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Engineering from MIT, he worked on developing applications at Oracle. Since then, he has been the primary technologist at several startups and most recently was co-founder and CTO at Twenty20 (formerly Instacanvas). Straying from the rest of his family members who work in health care (dentist, chiropractor, physical therapist, nurse, administrator), Steven has had a passion for programming since he was first introduced to BASIC on an Apple IIe in grade school.
