I am a certified Senior Professional of Human Resources and have over 20 years experience in the field of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition. My initial exposure to the field took place while serving in the military with the United States Marine Corps. After my tour of duty, I moved into local government and assisted the City of Alameda – Personnel department with their recruitment, staffing, training, and benefit functions. I earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of California, at Berkeley. One of the principles I’ve learned at Cal is ‘strength in diversity’. As this relates to the day-to-day activities of recruitment and human resources, I am constantly reminded of the importance in this statement because when practiced in application, the fruits of the rewards, in terms of an organization’s success, are endless. Specialties: I am passionate about working with early stage or high-growth companies and establishing a HR/Talent Acquisition function built for velocity. This includes talent development, candidate assessment, metrics, workforce planning, forecasting, onboarding, university/new grad programs and cultural initiatives. Also, I enjoy serving as a company evangelist and making sure everyone understands why our company is the best place to work...in the entire world.
