I want to change the world.
Being told no and having to pick yourself up and move on with the same fervor as before.
They fail to listen to dissent about their idea or product because it is their baby.
1. When someone says no, it could be a maybe. When someone says maybe, you can turn it into a yes.
2. When an investor is not convinced by your pitch, the worst thing to do is to walk away without figuring out what the investor sees as your weakness. Once you identify that weakness, work on it and repeat...how many ever times you need to repeat.
3. You can't get up at 5 AM on a Saturday morning to catch a flight to pitch your startup after a full week of work at your full time 'job' if you don't believe in your idea a full 100 percent.
I is a medical student at UC San Diego, co-founder and Chief Communications Officer at Saving Sara, co-founder at Incubate and the Medical Student Director at the San Diego County Medical Society. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.S. bioengineering and UCLA with a M.S. bioengineering degree.
The drive to integrate medicine, engineering and social entrepreneurship fuels my passion for the work I do at Saving Sara, where we aim to reduce maternal mortality in the developing world from postpartum hemorrhage.
