Full bio

Matthew Baamonde, founder of www.baazarmusic.com, is a multi-instrumentalist, graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, and the current composer for over a dozen international television shows, ranking him as one of the elite musical talents, and one of the hardest alumni of this prestigious, one-of-a-kind, institution.

His songs have received a great deal of acclaim online. On American Idol's Underground website he won numerous monthly competitions outright in the Rock category, including IU's first ever six month long "Rock Competition", and he had two songs (2nd and 4th overall) in the finals of their first big "Push Competition" of thousands of submissions worldwide. Other songs have been Track of the Day and Track of the Week, among other awards on Garageband.com.

Currently studying commercial music writing and film scoring, Matt is available to work on any visual or performance based project.

Recognition for his music has resulted in feature profiles on Fox News, in the Washington Post, Guitar World Magazine (twice), and numerous local news papers. His song "Amplifire" was included on the CD insert in the August 2006 issue of Guitar World Magazine. He has performed with numerous bands, and has appeared, as lead guitarist, with the Jessica Mellott Band on Fernando's Hideaway, a TV show based out of Boston, MA and has performed and recorded a live jam session with the world-renowned US Navy Cruisers Band, featuring some of the top musicians in the world.

A correspondent for Modern Guitars Magazine (www.modernguitars.com), he routinely contributes interviews with renowned guitarists, from legends like Robby Krieger (of the Doors), Robin Trower, and Steve Lukather (of Toto) to modern stars like Joe Trohman of Fall Out Boy. He also contributes a monthly column, called 'Berklee X', which has chronicled his experiences at the Berklee College of Music over the past three years. He is also a columnist for Guitar Messenger Magazine (www.guitarmessenger.com), a student run independent music magazine at Berklee, among others.

Matt writes music for any genre, and has an original catalogue of jazz, blues, pop, ballad, and high energy rock/shred instrumentals and would be excited to provide music for your project. He has assembled a diverse team of musicians, singers, composers, engineers, and other resources that only an institution like Berklee can provide, that will exceed your musical expectations.
