Lindsay Robinson

I am a motivated and enthusiastic journalism student with a passion for new experiences. I moved from my hometown of Colorado Springs to Phoenix in 2012 to begin my journey in the field of journalism. I am a junior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and in Barrett, the Honors College, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism as well as a master’s degree in mass communication. I like to think that I have a way with words, but I also love working with design programs like InDesign and Photoshop. Creating spreads as editor-in-chief for my high school newspaper sparked my love for layouts, and I invite opportunities to share my skills. I am comfortable with AP style, but I keep my trusted stylebook with me at all times. I take pride in my adherence to deadlines as well as my ability to learn and adapt to situations quickly. I am excited to be pursuing a field that is shifting and evolving so rapidly, and furthermore one that challenges me to excel in a broad set of skills. I am intrigued by the power of multimedia story-telling, and I am interested in both producing written content for an organization or publication as well as incorporating visual or multimedia elements. The Walter Cronkite School has provided me with experience and training in multiple areas, ranging from photography and video work to nailing headlines and deadlines. I have written stories for the online student news production, The Downtown Devil, and have also spent time working the the radio station, The Blaze. I gained experience in online content production and deadline-driven work during my time as a staff writing intern with Live Music Guide, and harnessed many social media skills during my time spent as the marketing intern for a local music venue, Last Exit Live. I am currently a digital news intern at azfamily.com, where I create content, write headlines, edit video and create Tweets for stories.
