I want to change the world.

Rewarding: Making your own decisions without political corporate issues, changing and disrupting the status quo
Frustrating: Not knowing how things will go, the landscape is huge
Not identifying the core target for the product, not working through a full business plan, lack of research, starting a business for the wrong reasons ie: wanna get rich
Hard work pays off. You get what you give. Networking is everything.
I started my career on the ad agency side working for various clients, and this was before online media was big in 2001. I spent a few years working to convince resistant and skeptical clients that online media was the future. After making a lot of progress on this, I was ready to take all of the knowledge from my successful agency clients directly to a brand. I wanted to see the impact I could make on larger businesses vs. small online one offs at the agency. I went into the travel space working for one of the largest mid-tier hotel brands La Quinta, where I enabled them to take online media in-house, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars, while also making all of the programs more effective, garnering a larger budget from other dwindling channels. As online media became even more prevalent, I desired an even more innovative brand, plus I had the entrepreneurial itch - so where better to go than Silicon Valley. At Shutterfly I have been able to take a huge media plan full-in-house and build a full media team around this effort, while also navigating the world of social media and driving efficiency from all programs. I singlehandedly led a lot of “firsts” for Shutterfly, including rich media, dynamic creative, media lift testing, online video, Facebook ads and more. With all of this experience it has really led me to become very well connected in the online media world. I am a blogger for iMedia Connection http://www.imediaconnection.com/profiles/iMedia_PC_BlogList.aspx?ID=5830 I have many recent interviews from eMarketer - here is one http://www.emarketer.tv/Article.aspx?R=1008458. Through being so well connected and learning from big brand experience, I have taken all of these skills and put it into my most important initiative - DINKlife.
My most important initiative is the founding of the first and only media company and lifestyle brand for DINKs, dual income no kids couples due to the ever changing landscape of traditional families and being a DINK myself. read more about DINKlife here http://vator.tv/company/dinklife and visit the site at www.dinklife.com.
