Full bio
I am an experienced, creative professional writer and editor. Currently, I write monthly features on food, restaurants and fitness for the Marina Times, a San Francisco monthly newspaper, and I write magazine articles on a regular basis for Stanford Magazine. I have written content for the new wellness/fitness website, Wellsphere.com as well as for other technology and food-related websites. Additionally, I wrote a weekly column on technology from a consumer's point of view for Investor's Business Daily for three years and was a regular contributor to Upside Magazine. I've also written for parenting and wine and food-related websites and publications. I edited and worked to design a monthly email newsletter for Stanford University that reaches 13,000 subscribers, and I write regular columns for Stanford Magazine, Stanford's alumni magazine. I spent four months as a temporary freelance compiler for the Stanford News Digest, an internal daily e-newsletter with an audience of faculty and staff, on a part-time basis. My editing experience includes working on a consulting basis with more than 40 high school seniors annually on writing and editing college application essays. Several of my students have been accepted at their first-choice, top-notch colleges. Additionally I am a part-time sales associate at Seconds to Go, a donation-only thrift shop on Fillmore Street benefiting Schools of the Sacred Heart tuition support. I work directly with customers as well as price and display merchandise, operate the store's POS system, and am involved in store operations and management.
