After working for someone else and making nothing, I started my own business, and still doing it. It's been a pleasure to have worked with customers and colleagues from every continent.

I am a(n):

Entrepreneur

If you're an entrepreneur or corporate innovator, why?

I want to be my own boss, and be in control.

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Rewarding: being able to test new ideas without worrying about bureaucracy
Frustrating: Keeping people from falling into comfortable ruts

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

Not being willing to test ideas in the real world before implementing (drinking their own Kool-ade)

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

Know your numbers, and keep your metrics aligned with those numbers
Be open to advice and criticism but stay focused on the goals
Be slow to hire and weed out the underperformers
