Jim Wickett

Jim Wickett is actively advising CloudCar and Countable, an early stage company in the consumer internet sector. He was formerly Executive Vice President, Corporate Development for Rovi Corporation (formerly Macrovision). Through over two dozen acquisitions and divestitures, including the $2.4B acquisition of Gemstar/TV Guide, Jim Wickett helped Rovi become a global leader in providing discovery and metadata solutions for digital content, including television, movies, music, and games, across multiple consumer electronic platforms. He was also involved in key licensing agreements and distribution deals for the company. Before joining Rovi, Jim Wickett served as a General Partner at Bay Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm, where he served as board member for several portfolio companies. He has also held senior executive positions or board seats at Pointcast, Rocket Science Games, E.piphany and One Pass Video/Editel, where he acquired the video division of Columbia Pictures. He has been a member of the California Coastal Commission, the Board of Audubon California, and the Board of Visitors of Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy.
